Acel first started her career in music as vocalist of Orphan Lily which was awarded as Best New Artist in the 1998 NU Rock Awards. She then became the vocalist of Moonstar 88 with which she recorded two albums which gained them a following in the local music scene. She left the band to pursue a solo career and released her album Silver Lining which was released in 2008. She also sang the theme songs for local television shows which include Rounin, the local version of My Girl and the Koreanovela Spring Waltz. Her advocacy is helping children who are abused, neglected and abandoned and in line with this she is an active volunteer at the Shepherd of the Hills Foundation.
